Personally, I don’t like the term Best Friend Forever. You can be my best friend for as long as you’d like, I won’t obligate anyone to stick by me that long. People leave me anyway.

I’m led to believe that your spouse or romantic partner should also be your best friend. Pfft, like they’ll ever open up to you about everything. Keep things from me, I honestly can’t be arsed. But if they get upset for ‘keeping things’ from them too, well now who was the hypocrite first?
